A workspace, not a verdict

The main job here is not to declare one school "the best." It is to help you build and understand a balanced list: what you might study, what the school and the exact program may cost, what admissions information is public, where you want to live and learn, whether you want an online or campus format, and which parts of the decision still need direct confirmation from the school.

Your saved list uses three planning categories: Aim High, Realistic, and Safe. They are planning categories, not predictions. Safe does not mean guaranteed. Admissions decisions depend on factors no public tool can fully predict.

Boundaries

What CollegeLineup is not

• Not an admissions oracle. The estimated chance beside a college is built from that college's published acceptance rate and reported score range, with every input printed next to it. It is a rough guide for building a balanced list, not a prediction of a decision.
• Not a lead form. It does not collect your contact information to sell to schools or lenders.
• Not a prestige magazine. Fame is not a factor. Cost, programs, and outcomes context are.

Independence

No school can pay its way up a list

Paid placement never affects rankings, comparisons, or editorial language. No college can buy a better position, a softer description, or a quieter caveat. If sponsorship ever appears on the site, it will be labeled as sponsorship and kept away from rankings and editorial judgments.

Where things stand

Every college, field of study, and wage figure on this site comes from published federal data rather than from anything CollegeLineup made up. The current build covers 5,800 colleges, 401 fields of study, and 654 occupations, and it was produced on August 23, 2026.

The data is prepared offline and committed to the repository, so the site makes no runtime calls to any federal service. Where a release leaves a value out, the page says so instead of filling the gap. The pages below explain how the numbers are handled and where each one comes from.
